Johannes Ruzicka has been working in fundraising since 2002. He built up and headed until the end of 2004 the fundraising department of Technical University Munich, which spearheaded fundraising for public universities in the German speaking area.

Together with his business partner, Johannes launched a fundraising consultancy at the beginning of 2005. Since 2009, he has been managing Director of Brakeley GmbH, which emerged from his earlier company.

As a fundraising consultant, Johannes supported so far around 80 not-for-profit and public organizations, such as: Zeppelin University, University of Münster, Vienna University of Economics and Business, University of Graz, Transparency International, WWF, UNICEF, Order of Saint John, Light for the World, The END Fund – Ending Neglected Diseases, HZI – Helmholtz Center for Infection Research, EMBL – European Molecular Biology Laboratory, ESO – European Southern Observatory, phaeno Science Center, World Robot Olympiad Association, Biotopia Museum of Natural History, Berliner Cathedral, Praetorius-Beck-Organ Halberstadt.

Prior to discovering fundraising as his passion, Johannes completed an engineering degree at the University of Applied Science Munich. He lived in the USA for the next five year, working as a project engineer in California for three years and returning to school to complete a two-year full-time MBA program at New York University Stern School of Business.

Johannes frequently shares his fundraising experience at fundraising events, such as the IFC – International Fundraising Congress in The Netherlands and the German and Austrian Fundraising Congress. He is co-author of three German fundraising books and a publication of the German Fundraising Association.

Together with his wife and three children, Johannes lives in Munich.
